Explore the Upper Tropical Rainforest

Milpe consists of two rustic-style eco-lodges Milpe Forest and Milpe Cliff situated in the heart of the globally important Choco Endemic Corridor. A wildlife refuge, this area, including Tandayapa were never destroyed by the Ice Age! It has been pristine and mega diverse ever since!

We have been in operation since 2006 providing lodging and accessibility to one of the last and possibly the most spectacular upper tropical forest in northwestern Ecuador. Milpe is adjacent to Mashpi área. Enjoy spectacular scenery, beautiful birding and hiking trails, running rivers, waterfalls, tropical birds, hundreds of butterflies, numerous wild orchids, including a wide array of tropical flora and fauna. San Jorge’s Observatory Hill is unique with four species of parrots, four species of toucans, including a huge amount of tanagers.

Beautiful magnificent bicycling trails,forest trails all over the reserve, 12 waterfalls, 2 rivers and 4 streams and a pristine upper tropical forest!
