San Jorge Ecolodge because of it spectacular background since 1500 BC, and the priceless and unique history inside its walls, was officially considered by the City Municipality a Natural, Traditional, Cultural Patrimony of Quito. An enormous distinction understanding Quito City as a top cultural legacy of humanity, named by Unesco.
The lodge is decorated with beautiful gardens, native trees, hummingbirds and bird feeders which attract several hummingbird species, tanagers, and other beautiful Andean birds. Several trails around the lodge lead to our own private highland pristine forests which are ideal for watching native birds, orchids, medicinal native plant species, the volcanic walls, the volcanoes Avenue sightseers, an original pre-Inca trail, and the gorgeous Mantle of San Jorge Waterfall located in the heart of the hacienda preserve. Enjoy our Safari Van specializes in showing heaven panoramic vistas of the West and East Andes by private roads while birdwatching, walking, or bicycling these endless mountain flat trails!
