Explore the Choco Corridor and Andean Cloud Forest

It is a rustic style eco-lodge situated in the heart of the famous Tandayapa Andean Cloud Forest Reserve. We have been in operation since 2005 providing lodging and the chance for nature lovers and birdwatchers to immerse in the natural wonders of the prime cloud forest. It’s part of the Choco Corridor hot spot.

The lodge has been carefully designed to harmonize with the natural surroundings and it has been strategically built in a transitional area between the upper and the lower cloud forest to attract the highest possible number of hummingbirds and other bird species to our feeders and gardens.

Our record is 65 species of birds at the feeders before breakfast. Tandayapa Valley holds the world record for hummingbird species recorded in one year, 43 species!

You may spot up to 30 species of hummingbirds at the feeders during the year, along with Tanager flocks including Grass-green Tanager, White-winged Tanager, Golden Napped Tanager, Metallic Green Tanager, Blue-winged Mountain Tanager, Cinereous Harrier, Toucan Barbet, Golden Headed and Crested Quetzal, Plate Billed Mountain Toucan, Masked Trogon as well as the Wattled Guam, Golden-rumped Euphonia, Crimson-rumped Toucanet, Andean Cock of the Rock and many more bird species. Recently in the surrounding area we have spotted the Snowy Egret, Striated Heron, Ringed Kingfisher and White-capped Dipper.
